“His rights matter more than yours.” - Leigh And Audrey

We're launching a new series - Tales from the Road - to give you insights into what our team is doing when they're out traveling the state of Iowa. We hear from locally elected officials, victim survivors, law enforcement and everyday Iowans who are concerned with the lack of constitutional rights for Iowa crime victims. We'll keep going the distance for crime victims' rights. We're glad to have you along for the ride.
On March 4, the Marsy’s Law staff exhibited at the WOCO women’s conference. Women from all across Iowa gathered for a day of inspiration, motivation, and education. It was empowering to be surrounded by and connect with changemakers in all different industries. We were able to talk to over a hundred people about our effort to provide victims of crime with constitutionally protected rights.
We were also excited that all profits from the conference would be donated to Dorothy’s House to provide a safe place for teens and young girls whose lives have be impacted by sex trafficking and exploitation. Marsy’s Law is very supportive of Dorothy’s House and their mission to help victims of such horrific crimes.
Throughout the day we had an overwhelming amount of support from attendees:
All this showed us firsthand how much constituents want crime victims to have constitutionally protected rights.
We left the conference feeling inspired by how many women supported us and wanted to get involved. Attending events like WOCO motivate us to continue our hard work for crime victims’ rights here in Iowa.
