Join the Fight for Equal Rights for Iowa's Crime Victims
What is Marsy’s Law?
The Legislature has proven in the past that when it comes to protecting the safety and welfare of Iowans, they are able to put politics aside and do what’s in the best interest of the state. This issue should be no different. All victims of crime deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
I have dedicated my career to serving my community and the victims of crime. Giving a voice to those who sometimes are not in a position to be heard. Now in my role as sheriff, I am proud to continue to fight and advocate for strengthening victims’ rights in Iowa
There is a developing consensus around the country that, just as we need to protect the rights of criminal defendants in the process, so, too, should we protect the rights of victims. Marsy’s Law does not take away the rights of anyone. It simply elevates and makes equal rights for crime victims.
