DV Awareness Mo Partners

We've been talking a lot about Domestic Violence Awareness Month the past few weeks. During the month of October, we're working with our coalition members to see how we can be helpful and life their voices up, to show how anyone can become a victim of domestic violence and share resources on where to get help.

We recently met with Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate about the Safe at Home program. Our organization has been supporters of Safe at Home and we have several victim survivors who have utilized the program and sing its praises. It was great to be able to discuss these issues in person with Sec. Pate. He also had a special video to record and share with us which you can view here.

We also met with Megan Tabor from the Muscatine Prevent Violence Coalition. The Muscatine County PVC "started as a place where everyone involved in domestic violence could have conversations, bridge gaps and build stronger relationships with each other to better serve victims. Later, the coalition was named Prevent Violence Coalition (PVC) and added prevention efforts within the community." We had a great meeting with Muscatine County PVC. Megan shared a video with us, explaining how to the community can support DV Awareness and the local DV shelter for #DVAM2021. You can view it here.
